Quick tips for family shoots
Updated: Dec 30, 2019
While doing a family shoot may feel overwhelming, once you get the photographs you're always glad you went through with it!
So, here are some quick tips to remember that will make your session a lot easier.
Wear similar tones - You don't need to all be dressed alike to make the photos look great, but if you coordinate the same tones and colors it will create some beautiful unity within the pictures.
Don't sweat the melt downs - It can be tough as an adult to do photo shoots, so keep in mind it is tough on the little ones as well. So should they act out, stay calm and do not worry, as a photographer working with children, we totally get it! You can actually make light of the situation with some silly photos or we just take a little break.
Get inspired - Before the photo shoot, check out Instagram and Pinterest for ideas on what you would like to achieve with the photographer, be sure to share your vision and collaborate to get the most out of your session.
Don't worry too much about posing - While you may be inspired, this is more about documenting you and your family, so focus on interacting and being a family, let the photographer view and capture these little moments because if you are too focused on posing it may come off as a bit stiff and emotionless.
